Recent updates have added new capabilities to the Standard Edition of Azure Data Catalog to give Data Catalog administrators more control over allowed operations on catalog metadata.
New capabilities include:
- Catalog administrators can restrict users’ ability to contribute tags and related metadata to the catalog, enabling read-only access to the catalog.
- Catalog administrators can restrict users’ ability to register new data sources in the catalog.
- Catalog administrators can restrict users’ ability to take ownership of data asset metadata in the catalog.
- Permissions can be granted to Azure Active Directory security groups and users for ease of permissions management.
