As your data size and performance needs grow in the future, you can easily add worker nodes to your server group, seamlessly converting your configuration to the Standard tier—without any downtime. The Basic tier would allow you to put your data in distributed tables from the beginning and be able to move them to worker nodes once you graduate to the Standard tier.
