The App Service Authentication/Authorization feature now supports social identity providers and headless authentication flows. The Authentication/Authorization feature now includes new identity providers, new sign-in options, and greater flexibility in access control. This gives customers the richness of the gateway on a per-site basis, with an improved management experience. We recommend web and mobile applications use this feature going forward instead of the App Service gateway.
