We are adding the “Selective Disk Backup and Restore” capability in Enhanced Policy of Azure VM Backup. We already support this feature in the Standard Policy of Azure VM Backup, but now offer the selective disk backup capability with the following enhancements in Enhanced Policy as well:
- You can select the data disks you want to backup directly from the portal when configuring backup and through CLI/PowerShell.
- Only the OS disk and selected data disks are included in the backup snapshot and for billing.
- You can exclude disk types currently not supported by Azure VM Backup and configure backup for the VM using Enhanced Policy.
