Microsoft Azure will retire support for NCv3-series VMs on September 30th, 2025 including Standard_NC24rs_v3, Standard_NC6s_v3, Standard_NC12s_v3, and Standard_NC24s_v3. Azure Batch will follow Microsoft Azure support retirement dates for NCv3-series VM support in Batch pools. Please refer to the original Azure retirement announcement.
From now until September 30th, 2025, you'll need to either migrate your Batch pools to a newer VM series in the same NC product line, or you may migrate to a different Batch-supported VM size suitable for your workload. After the target retirement dates, no new Batch pools specifying the NCv3-series VM family will be able to be successfully created. In addition, existing pools with NCv3-series VMs will no longer be able to scale out and will be subject to forced resize to zero nodes.
