Description

Microsoft is announcing the planned retirement of the Azure Computer Vision – Image Analysis service.

Microsoft will provide full support for all existing Azure Computer Vision – Image Analysis customers until 9/25/2028. During this support window, customers are encouraged to begin planning and executing their transition to one of the following Azure products. Your product transition plan will depend on the specific use cases for Image Analysis.

For OCR and Read capabilities, utilize Document Intelligence
For Face scenarios, use the Face API
For other Computer Vision scenarios, utilize the GPT model series found in the Microsoft Foundry.
Azure AI is offering a new product currently in preview, Azure AI Content Understanding, that is powered by LLMs and also supports many image analysis use cases
