Description

UPDATED: Microsoft announced the retirement of the AV36 node type on June 30, 2028, that date has changed to align with VMware’s roadmap. Broadcom will end support for the current AV36 version with vSphere 8 on September 30, 2027, and the AV36 SKU is not compatible with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9, the next-generation platform.

As part of this transition, and now to align with the AVS License-include service retirement on August 30, 2027, all AV36 SDDCs will be retired after August 30, 2027, regardless of individual RI expiration dates. On August 31, 2027, these SDDCs will no longer be accessible.

Key dates for AV36 subscriptions:

  • June 30, 2026 Last day to buy a 1-year RI for AV36 VCF BYOL
  • August 30, 2027 AV36 SKU retirement and AVS License -included service retirement.

  • August 31, 2027 SDDC access will be removed.

Contact your Microsoft Account Team for key dates for AV36 PayGo subscriptions.
