Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL includes Query Advisor, now generally available in the .NET SDK.
Query Advisor helps you write faster, more efficient queries by analyzing your query structure and providing clear, actionable recommendations. It identifies ways that can potentially reduce Request Unit (RU) cost and improve performance.
As your applications grow, even small changes in query design can have a big impact on scalability and cost. Query Advisor reviews your queries, detects patterns that may cause excessive scans or processing, and suggests improvements, such as optimized filters, more efficient array operations, or simplified subqueries. Each recommendation includes a brief explanation and an example rewrite so you can learn and decide what to apply.
This feature helps developers and database engineers understand how to fine-tune queries for their workloads, achieve better performance, and control RU consumption.
