eBPF host routing in Advanced Container Networking Services for AKS is now available in public preview.
As containerized applications scale across distributed environments,
traditional networking approaches can introduce latency and reduce throughput.
To address this, Azure CNI powered by Cilium now offers eBPF Host Routing in
public preview for Azure Kubernetes Service.
This feature uses eBPF technology to embed routing logic
directly into the Linux kernel, eliminating the need for iptables and reducing
reliance on the host network stack. By enabling Cilium to make direct routing
decisions, eBPF host routing delivers lower latency, fewer network hops, and
higher throughput for Kubernetes clusters.
