Description

Azure Functions Flex Consumption is now the recommended hosting plan for serverless workloads requiring advanced scaling, networking, and cost optimization. To support customers migrating from the Azure Functions Consumption plan or from AWS Lambda, Microsoft has published comprehensive migration guides and tooling:

  • Azure Functions Consumption to Flex Consumption: The new documentation provides step-by-step instructions for moving your Azure Functions apps from the Consumption plan to Flex Consumption. This includes guidance on updating your infrastructure as code (ARM/Bicep), configuration changes, and leveraging new AZ CLI commands to automate the migration process.
  • AWS Lambda to Azure Functions Flex Consumption: For customers migrating from AWS Lambda, this guide covers mapping Lambda concepts to Azure Functions, code porting strategies, and best practices for deploying to Azure Functions Flex Consumption. This includes instructions for using GitHub Copilot in VS Code for help with code refactoring, manual refactoring for specific changes, or other migration aids.

These resources are designed to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition, enabling customers to take advantage of Flex Consumption’s improved scaling, networking, and cost controls.
