Service Fabric will end support
for all clusters running on Windows Server 2022 on March 31, 2027. Customers
must upgrade to Windows Server 2025 by this date to remain in a
supported state.
This change aligns Service
Fabric’s Windows OS image support model with mainstream OS support timelines,
consistent with Linux and other Azure platforms. Service Fabric
will no longer support Windows Server OS images beyond their mainstream support
end date.
This change strengthens security
posture, reduces operational complexity, and enables continued innovation
on modern platforms.
Note: While Virtual Machine Scale
Sets will continue to function on Windows Server 2022 beyond March 31,
2027, Service Fabric support will not.
Required Action: Upgrade all Service Fabric clusters running Windows Server 2022 to Windows Server 2025 before March 31, 2027 to remain in a supported state. This support end date applies to all Service Fabric environments.
How to upgrade:
OS image upgrades are performed by
scaling cluster node types and do not impact applications when
executed using supported procedures:
While some documentation
references upgrade from Windows Server 2019 to 2022, the same process applies
all supported Windows Server OS image upgrades, including Windows Server 2025.
