You can now more easily migrate from relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL to Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL. The Migration Assistant in the Azure Cosmos DB extension for Visual Studio Code guides you through a structured workflow: discovery, assessment, schema conversion and provisioning. It uses GitHub Copilot language models and Azure Cosmos DB Agent Kit skills to analyze your application and schema, generate a target NoSQL design with ready-to-provision containers, and convert the application code. All migration artifacts are saved to a .cosmosdb-migration project folder in your workspace so you can pause, resume, inspect, modify and share the outputs as part of your normal development process.
