Microsoft Foundry adds connectors and time-based triggers to the Foundry Tools toolbox in public preview, giving enterprise developers and automation engineers a native way to build event-driven AI agents. Foundry agents today are invoked only through direct API calls or user interactions, leaving teams to build custom orchestration outside Foundry whenever an agent needs to react to a business event. With this release, agents respond automatically to events from Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party systems, and fire on schedules such as every day at 7am. Developers use the same centrally managed toolbox endpoint for discovery and authentication, while admins retain governance over which connectors and triggers are approved for enterprise use. Reactive, event-driven agent automation now ships without custom orchestration code or per-connector integration work.
