Translator batch document translation now translates text inside images
embedded in Word `.docx` files as a generally available capability. The service
detects image regions, runs OCR, translates the recognized text, and re-renders
it back into the document while preserving the original layout, font, and
surrounding formatting. Image-aware translation works through the existing
batch translation REST API and SDK paths, with the same source and target Azure
Blob Storage container pattern. Pricing is calculated per image translated,
alongside standard character-based pricing for the surrounding document text.
Output documents are written to the target container in their translated form
for downstream review.
