Summary

Selfie video recording in Microsoft Viva Engage will only be supported on iOS/Android mobile apps starting mid-April 2025. The "Record a video" feature will be removed from the web version. This change requires no admin action but users should be notified. We made a change in the experience for Microsoft Viva Engage. We will only support recording selfie videos in the Viva Engage iOS/Android mobile apps and not in Viva Engage for the web.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We began rolling out mid-April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025.

How this will affect your organization:

Before this rollout, users were able to select Record a video in Viva Engage for the web:

After this rollout, the Record a video button will be removed from Viva Engage for the web:

After this rollout, users can record a selfie video with the Record a Video feature in the Viva Engage apps for iOS/Android:

This change is available by default for users to access.

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
