Summary

Users will soon access Microsoft 365 Copilot agents from the Edge sidebar, starting late June 2025. Agents must be added beforehand as new agents cannot be created or searched in the sidebar. The rollout requires no admin action and aims to enhance user focus by integrating agents into the browser.

Users will soon be able to access agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot from the Edge sidebar (on the right side of the screen) while using Copilot.

This message applies to Web chat and Work chat for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and to Copilot Chat for users with a Microsoft 365 license.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 482410.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late June 2025 (previously late May) and expect to complete by early July 2025 (previously early June).

How this will affect your organization:

Users must first add agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot for them to be available in the Edge sidebar when using Copilot. (Learn more about adding agents: Introducing agents - Microsoft Support). Users will not be able to create, search for, or add new agents when using Copilot from the Edge sidebar at this time.

Users will be able to access their previously added agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot from the Edge sidebar while using Copilot. This rollout will help users focus on their main browser activities and access agents without switching to another screen.

This feature will be available by default.

Select Agents from the three-dot menu (...) in the top right of the Edge sidebar:

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified dates with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to assess the impact on your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
