Microsoft Planner will support Information Barriers starting September 2025, restricting plan sharing and visibility to authorized groups only. This feature, enabled by default for tenants with Information Barriers, enhances compliance and data protection but is unavailable on mobile apps or browsers. No user action is needed to enable it.
Introduction
A few customers have expressed concerns regarding users being able to view a complete list of tenant members when sharing a Plan. In response, we are pleased to announce that Planner will soon support Information Barriers across both the Planner Web and Planner app within Teams. This feature ensures users can only discover others within their assigned group. Please note that Information Barrier functionality will not be available on the Planner mobile app or when accessing Planner via mobile browsers.
