Teams Rooms on Windows touch boards will support Microsoft Edge in private browsing mode, allowing secure web access during and outside meetings. This feature, off by default and requiring a Teams Rooms Pro license, rolls out from September to October 2025 and offers admin controls for session management and browser settings.
Introduction
Teams Rooms on Windows touch boards now support Microsoft Edge in private browsing mode. This feature enables users to securely access websites and line-of-business web apps both during and outside of Teams meetings. IT admins can manage browser settings to ensure a safe and controlled experience.
This feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 494148.
When this will happen
General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out in late September 2025 and expect to complete by mid-October 2025.
General Availability (GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out in early October 2025 and expect to complete by late October 2025.
How this affects your organization
This feature is off by default and requires a Teams Rooms Pro license. It is available on certified Teams Rooms on Windows touch board devices, including Surface Hub 2S (in Teams Rooms mode), Surface Hub 3, MaxHub XBoard, and Yealink Meeting Board.
