Forwarded messages in Microsoft Teams will now include a clickable link to the original message for better context and traceability. This feature, enabled by default, rolls out from mid-October to mid-November 2025 for all Windows and Mac desktop users, requiring no admin action.
When someone forwards a message in Microsoft Teams, the forwarded message will now include a clickable link that takes the recipient directly to the original chat or channel message—if they have permission to view it. This enhancement improves message traceability and helps users quickly understand the context of forwarded messages. This update is based on customer feedback requesting better navigation and context when messages are shared across Teams.
