Video Recap for Teams Meetings
Introduction
We are introducing video-based meeting recaps in Microsoft Teams to help users quickly catch up on meetings they missed or revisit key moments. Video recap creates narrated video highlights from recorded meetings, combining key takeaways with short video clips that showcase important discussion points. This enhancement builds on intelligent meeting recap and is designed to save time and improve information retention.
This message applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for the web. It is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 558540.

Compliance considerations:
| Area | Impact |
|---|---|
| AI/ML or agent capabilities interacting with customer data | Video recap uses AI to generate narrated summaries and video highlights from existing meeting recordings and transcripts. |
| New way for users to interact with generative AI | Users can consume AI-generated video summaries of their meetings. |
| Customer data processing or access | Existing meeting recordings and transcripts are processed to generate the video recap, using the same permissions model. |
The video recap shares the same permissions, retention policies, and compliance controls as the original meeting recording.
