What and Why:

Granular Conditional Access for Teams meetings enables organizations to apply more targeted access controls to help protect sensitive meetings. Administrators can use Conditional Access policies to enforce specific access requirements for selected meetings, helping ensure that participants meet organizational security requirements before joining.

Rollout Schedule:

Public Preview (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late November 2026 and expect to complete by late November 2026.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in early January 2027 and expect to complete by late January 2027.

Impact on Your Organization:

Administrators can make approved authentication requirements available for specific meetings, allowing organizers to require additional verification such as multifactor authentication, device compliance, or location-based controls. Participants must satisfy the applicable Conditional Access policy before joining the protected meeting.

Action Required/Recommendations:

To prepare, administrators should configure required authentication contexts and associated Conditional Access policies in Microsoft Entra, publish authentication contexts to Microsoft Teams, and enable meeting authentication requirements through Teams meeting policies.
