What and why

At launch, it includes Custom Instructions, Saved Memories, and memories derived from chat history. The memory profile will continue to evolve and improve over time.

If Enhanced personalization is disabled, Copilot Memory is disabled and is not available through the MCP path.
- User personalization settings in Copilot Chat > Settings > Personalization are respected:If Customize Copilot is disabled, Custom Instructions are not included in the memory profile.
- If Saved memories is disabled, saved memories are not included in the memory profile.
- If Chat history & work insights is disabled, insights from chat history and Microsoft 365 activity are not included in the memory profile.
