Microsoft has rolled back the Outlook Folder Recursive Search feature to address gaps and improve the experience. The feature will allow users to search within Outlook for sub-folders within specific folders. The rollout will begin in mid-May 2024 and end in mid-November 2024. Users may want to notify their users and update relevant documentation.
Updated March 20, 2024: We have rolled this feature back to development stage in order to address some gaps based on feedback received and make the experience better. Additionally, we have updated the rollout timeline below. We apologize for any inconveniences.
This new feature will allow users to search within Outlook for sub-folders within specific folders.

When this will happen:
Standard Release: We will begin rolling out in mid-May 2024 (previously late January) and expect to complete by mid-November 2024 (previously late June).

Search within Outlook will soon return results not only from specific folders but also from sub-folders within it.
