The Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention will enable you to expend some of your existing DLP policies to macOS endpoints, including Removable USB device groups/Network share groups/Printer groups, Most restrictive, and Network share coverage and exclusions.

When this will happen:
Rollout will begin in late November and is expected to be complete by late January 2024 (previously mid-December).
How this will affect your organization:
With those macOS updates,
- DLP Admins will have more granular controls through Removable USB device groups/Network share groups/Printer groups.
- Data Loss Prevention on endpoint will consolidate multiple policies and apply most restrictive policy to protect a sensitive file.
- DLP Admins will be able to protect the sensitive file stored on the network share and mapped network drives.
