We are releasing an update to restrict access to the following information only to admins having the ‘Data Classification Content Viewer’ role -
- View source information in Activity Explorer
will be restricted exclusively to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer. This role will be the designated requirementand
- View surrounding context for
end-user content accessassociated SIT types in Activity Explorer.

When this will happen:
Public Preview: We will begin rolling out early June 2024 (previously mid-April 2024May) and expect to complete by late April 2024.June 2024 (previously late May).
General Availability: We will begin rolling out late June 2024 (previously mid-May 2024May) and expect to complete by mid-July 2024 (previously late May 2024.May).
How this will affect your organization:
We will remove PII data exposure from existing roles since DataExisting admins who do not have the ‘Data Classification Content ViewerViewer’ role assigned to any of their existing Role Groups will be the only role with access.no longer have access to view source and SIT surrounding context.
What you need to do to prepare:
This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may wantEnsure any admins that need to notify your users about this changehave access to ‘View Source’ and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.‘SIT surrounding context’ have the ‘Data Classification Content Viewer’ role assigned to them.
