Microsoft Forms now supports data syncing with Excel desktop, allowing users to update response data and create new forms linked to Excel workbooks. This feature is rolling out from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025 and requires no admin action. Users without the latest Excel can use Excel for the web.
A Microsoft Forms feature allows users to get up-to-date responses data in Microsoft Excel desktop. Users can also create a new form from Excel desktop with a data sync connection to the Excel workbook.

When this will happen:
General Availability (Worldwide): We began out mid-November 2024 and expect to complete by mid-February 2025.
How this will affect your organization:
Users can choose an open form's result data in Excel desktop from Forms and get up-to-date data.
If a user doesn't yet have the version of the Excel desktop app that has this feature, the user can still check the synced data in Excel for the web.
Users can create a new form from the Excel desktop app.
This new feature is available by default.

This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
