MC759457 - Endpoint Data Loss Prevention - Enhanced privacy control: Limiting PII data access in Activity Explorer

We are releasing an update to restrictPII data access to the following information only to admins having the ‘Data Classification Content Viewer’ role -

1. View source information in Activity Explorer and
2. View surrounding contextwill be restricted exclusively to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer. This role will be the designated requirement for associated SIT typesend-user content access in Activity Explorer

When this will happen:

Public Preview: We will begin rolling out early Junemid-April 2024 (previously mid-May) and expect to complete by late June 2024 (previously late May).April 2024.

General Availability: We will begin rolling out late Junemid-May 2024 (previously mid-May) and expect to complete by mid-July 2024 (previously late May).May 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

Existing admins who do not have the ‘DataWe will remove PII data exposure from existing roles since Data Classification Content Viewer’Viewer will be the only role assigned to any of their existing Role Groups will no longer have access to view source and SIT surrounding context.with access.

What you need to do to prepare:

EnsureThis rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any admins that need to have access to ‘View Source’ and ‘SIT surrounding context’ have the ‘Data Classification Content Viewer’ role assigned to them.relevant documentation as appropriate.
